Why this exists

He is not
commenting on
football from
the outside.

Christopher Roselli spent fifteen years in the professional game and fifteen years leading digital innovation, strategy, technology and business transformation.

That combination is rare, and it is the entire reason this Institute exists. He understands the game from the perspective of the player — the fatigue, the selection conversation, the injury nobody explained properly, the decision made about you in a room you were not in. He understands innovation from the perspective of a strategist — the business case, the integration debt, the difference between a tool that changes a decision and a tool that produces a report.

Most people in football have one of those two vocabularies. The gap between them is where a great deal of money, time and player health is currently being lost. The Institute is an attempt to close it, in public, with rigour, and without a product to sell.

Fifteen years in the game
The player

Football as lived experience

Professional football from the inside: preparation, pressure, selection, recovery, injury and the decisions made about players by people they rarely meet.

The environment

Teams, culture and leadership under load

What actually determines whether a group performs — and how rarely it is the thing being measured.

The lesson

Information without understanding

Watching decisions be made with confidence and incomplete comprehension, long before anyone called it a data problem.

Fifteen years in innovation
The strategist

Digital innovation and transformation

Leading digital strategy, technology and business transformation — and learning that organisations fail at adoption far more often than at technology.

The systems view

Connected thinking

Treating organisations as systems rather than departments, and decisions as the only output that matters.

The synthesis

FootballIntelligence.IO

Bringing both vocabularies into one discipline, one framework and one enduring body of work.

Keynotes & advisory

What he is
asked to speak about.

Keynote 01

The Understanding Gap

Why football's constraint moved from collection to comprehension, and what that means for how clubs are organised.

Keynote 02

The Next Advantage Is Not AI

What machine learning genuinely offers football, where it fails, and why the advantage accrues to judgement rather than tooling.

Keynote 03

Leadership as a Performance System

Trust, clarity and the upward travel of bad news, treated as measurable performance variables.

Keynote 04

Injuries Are Rarely Random

Reframing injury as a misunderstood sequence, and the governance football needs to act on signals earlier.

Keynote 05

The Intelligence Era

A ten-year view of where football goes next, and the decisions the game has to make before it gets there.

Advisory

Board & executive advisory

Selective, disclosed, and never with a party whose technology the Institute evaluates.
